ANCHORAGE, Alaska, July 27, 2021 /PRNewswire/ -- Wounded Warrior Project^® (WWP) is expanding investments in Alaska's veteran and military service organizations to provide for more resources for injured veterans as well as active-duty service members. The organizations receiving grants are:

• Steven A. Cohen Military Family Clinic at Alaska Behavioral Health – supporting confidential, high-quality behavioral healthcare services and local resource connections to post-9/11 veterans and active-duty service members (including National Guard and Reserves), and their families.
• Armed Services YMCA of Alaska – supporting the YMCA food pantry, the Guardian Angel program and covering additional costs associated with short active-duty fishing days.

Earlier this year, WWP announced funding for 15 partner organizations, including Alaska's Gold Star Peak. On July 25, WWP officials attended the groundbreaking ceremony to celebrate single and multi-day adventures, events, and trainings for Camp Gold Star participants and partner organizations. WWP's funding helped purchase the land to conduct outreach and engagement activities.

Since 2012, WWP has partnered with and helped fund over 200 organizations that assist wounded veterans and families at the local and national level, connecting them with the resources they need to thrive in civilian life.
